Nauchsoft is an international IT consulting and software development company. We have been in the IT business for 37 years and continue growing.

We are looking for a Lead Automation QA Engineer who will take ownership of the testing process, drive quality initiatives, and help ensure the reliability and stability of the product through effective test automation practices.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with leadership skills, proactively identifies risks, and collaborates effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.

Main responsibilities:

• Lead and improve the test automation strategy and testing processes.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated tests at unit, integration, and end-to-end levels.
• Ensure high test quality, reliability, and maintainability.
• Analyze testing risks and communicate them clearly to stakeholders.
• Work with existing codebases, contributing to testability and quality improvements.
• Drive best practices in test design, automation, and quality assurance.
• Collaborate with development teams and business stakeholders to ensure quality standards are met.

• Strong programming skills in at least one statically typed object-oriented language (C++, Java, C#, Go, or similar).
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Strong computer science fundamentals, including:
  • Data structures and algorithms
  • Memory model concepts (stack, heap, pointers, references)
  • Concurrency basics
• Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated tests.
• Experience with test automation across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing levels.
• Ability to work effectively with large existing codebases and quickly adapt to unfamiliar technologies or programming languages.
• Confident use of command-line tools on Windows and macOS.
• Experience with Git.
• Strong understanding of test design principles, including:
  • Test coverage
  • Deterministic vs. flaky tests
  • Mocking and stubbing

• Ability to clearly communicate ideas, risks, and quality concerns.
• Ownership mindset with responsibility for testing quality and process improvements.

• Proactive approach to identifying potential issues and proposing solutions.
• Ability to advocate for quality standards even under business pressure.
